A Backward Glance 

Bound in black leather with gilt-stamped decorations (Wharton's signature) on the cover.

Tipped in at the front, there is a list of "Misprints" in Wharton's hand. However, none of the listed corrections were successfully incorporated into subsequent editions of the book. Also tipped in at the front is a news article clipping dated "June 24 '34" and titled" “News and Views of Literary London."

With a portrait of the author as frontispiece.

The volume is heavily marked in pencil throughout, chiefly with attention to corrections / misprints. On the rear fly, another penciled list of "Misprints" appears to have been started, in Wharton's hand.
