Digitizing Edith Wharton's LIbrary
The EdithWhartonsLibrary.org project began during the summer of 2015 with support from the University of North Dakota and the Edith Wharton Society. Work on this project is multi-phased and ongoing, and is made possible through the collaborative efforts of a number of scholars, students, researchers, and curators working in cooperation with The Mount estate in Lenox, MA, Edith Wharton's historic home.
Currently, we are working to digitize, upload, tag, and display digital records for all of the 2,700 books contained in Edith Wharton's library at The Mount. This site comprises a rough draft version of those efforts; project coordinators and research assistants are adding to it on a weekly, sometimes daily, basis, and the collection continues to grow. In the meantime, we are eager to collect feedback. Users are invited to make liberal use of the "Contact" form (available via the dropdown menu, at top) and to report any issues, bugs, questions, or quandaries.
Thank you for your time, interest, and patience!
