I agree with a lot of Luke’s comments regarding your site, Emmy. It really comes across very nicely, with a lot of engaging personal touches (love the travel photos, for example).
Nicely done!
Update: I went on my site today to do some updates, and I figured out how to get the links to open in separate tabs! Yay!
Thanks Luke! For the resume, I used a plug-in called Cloudup. If you Google “Cloudup and WordPress” there should be instructions on how to set it up – that’s how I figured it out, and it took only a few easy steps.
About the links, I totally agree – I’m just not sure how to format the hyperlinks so that each one opens a new tab. Professor Liming, help here? 🙂
Emmy:
I love the professional quality of your blog, while at the same time keeping it personal. I liked the amount of detail you put into your About Me page such as the variety of clubs/groups you’ve been involved in. I also found your research section notable and fascinating, liked that you included what got you interested in the particular topic – it speaks to what kinds of topics you value – great work!
For your resume, I liked the full text appearance of your resume as opposed to just a downloadable link. How did you get yours to do this? I was wondering how to link it that way myself but was unsure where to start.
I found your extracurricular page interesting as well, adding that personal touch really helps your website stand out! Your contact page seems to look and work fine from what I see.
The links to your various interests and organizations were helpful in showing more accurately what you’ve been involved in or are interested in – and all of them are working properly. My only suggestion here might be to possibly have the links set up so they each open up into a new page so that a viewer can look at them in tandem with your blog without having to hit the back arrow or leave your site.
Overall, I like your theme design, your various tabs, and the level of professionalism as well as personal touches exhibited throughout your website. Hope you keep up the great work and continue to use your site in the future!
