To echo Nik: yes, the homepage really is incredible, and the design is really unique (and very, very fabulous). Good work!
I appreciate that you put so much work into “filling the website up” and adding useful material to it. It really reads / displays very nicely — good job!
Lol, crusty old man. Thank you both for the comments. 🙂
Overall I liked your website. The photo on the main page was excellent. One critique on the main page is that it is too long. The welcome paragraph is fine, but the rest of it should be moved to an about me page. The information in it is fine, but the first page on a site like this should be to the point.
I love your logo and the fact that it works to return to the main page, but there should also be an obvious link to home in your navigation bar, just to make it clearer. I like how all the links to contact you in on the contacts section have photos of you in them. They are a little confusing though because the description of the link is above the photo. Typically descriptions are below the links. I would also get rid of the date on your home page.
Considering your interest in publishing, I think it was a great idea to publish a link to your book review blog along with some of your writing projects. I like your infographics for education, skills, and thrills. It shows you your skills in Adobe Creative Suite or whatever program you used. One thing to think about is what audience you’re targeting with this site. Maybe I’m just a crusty old man, but I think the flowers on the infographics might detract from the professionalism of the site. Don’t get me wrong I think they look great for a personal site, I’m just unsure if it works on a professional site.
Overall you did a great job on the website. I really enjoyed it.
First, your home page image is incredible! I can really see how much work you put into this project, which is great because you can use this website for professional purposes and they can be as impressed as I am.
The website really incorporates your skills that you mentioned in your “Skills” section (i.e adobe creative suite, wordpress, writing) which is really great to see.
The website is also very easy to navigate and I found no missing pages or errors. The goodreads widget and gradation countdown was a nice added touch too.
My only critique is the home page. I think that such a great picture should only be by itself, and then you can add an “about me” page. I was so wrapped up in the picture and your menu bar that I didn’t get a chance to read your bio until I looked through the site again.
